Georgia, Alabama and Texas fall; NFL Sunday starts in London

NFL & College October 17, 2026 By Andrew

Saturday delivered three losses near the top of the college rankings. Sunday brings an early London kickoff, two competing late-afternoon NFL options, and Cowboys-Packers under the lights.

This is a Saturday-night snapshot, not a complete recap of the college slate. Only confirmed finals are included below. Rankings are those shown with the games by NCAA.com. All NFL kickoff times are Eastern; listings were checked October 17.

Three SEC results to catch up on

  • Auburn 27, No. 1 Georgia 24. The top-ranked team takes a three-point loss.
  • No. 14 Tennessee 26, No. 6 Alabama 10. The Volunteers win by 16.
  • Florida 27, No. 7 Texas 24. Florida supplies another upset of a top-10 opponent.

Those finals are listed in NCAA.com's October 17 scoreboard roundup. The next rankings will be worth checking, but these results alone do not tell us where each team will land.

Ohio State gets through a close one

No. 4 Ohio State 19, No. 5 Indiana 15. Elsewhere in the same NCAA roundup, No. 9 Ole Miss beat No. 13 Missouri 31-3, and No. 22 LSU shut out No. 16 Mississippi State 31-0. That is a useful short list if you missed the afternoon. For games still underway or finishing later, check the college scoreboard.

Denver takes Thursday in overtime

Broncos 17, Seahawks 14, overtime. Seattle forced the extra period, but an overtime interception set up Denver's winning field goal. The loss left Seattle 3-3, according to the Seahawks' official recap.

The finish is the reason to revisit this one: getting to overtime and finishing the comeback turned out to be two very different tasks for Seattle.

Your Sunday and Monday viewing plan

These are my windows to circle from the Week 6 schedule:

  • Sunday, October 18, 9:30 a.m., NFL Network: Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars, at Wembley Stadium in London.
  • Sunday, October 18, 1:00 p.m., FOX: Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns.
  • Sunday, October 18, 4:25 p.m., CBS: Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs.
  • Sunday, October 18, 4:25 p.m., CBS: Buffalo Bills at Las Vegas Raiders.
  • Sunday, October 18, 8:20 p.m., NBC: Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers.
  • Monday, October 19, 8:15 p.m., ABC/ESPN: Washington Commanders at San Francisco 49ers.

The scheduling choice comes at 4:25: Chargers-Chiefs and Bills-Raiders overlap. Check your local CBS listing before choosing your afternoon plan; FOX afternoon coverage also varies by market. Cowboys-Packers is the evening appointment once that window ends.

Put your teams on one schedule

If you follow both leagues, build your own list in My Season. Add your teams, check the combined schedule, then download a printable PDF or use the calendar options. A PDF is a snapshot; a calendar subscription can receive later kickoff updates. The PDF and calendar guide explains the difference.

For the full slate beyond these picks, use Games & TV. This article stays dated so that next week's visitors can tell a past viewing guide from the current schedule.
